I crept up behind Peachy and saw what he was doing. You have to understand that he is a text and image entertainment in order to understand what I am going to describe. It is not as if he is a person. That would be ridiculous. Anyway he was in the park , what with the sun coming out recently. Many people were milling in the park, like a painting. I think he felt more at ease when he could imagine that the thing that he was in was like something rather than was something. Although what I’m saying is he actually was in a place but denying it. That gives you an idea of how unstable he is and how much he needs me as a big anchor. What he was doing was running at groups of people and absorbing their flesh. This was part of his plan to obtain personhood and not be written off as, essentially, a framework wherein certain formal and aesthetic transactions could be effected. I stepped in as he entered a group of teenagers in loose fitting clothing.
“No, Peachy!” I insisted. “That is not the way! You will never accumulate sufficient flesh to acquire the accoutrements that you so crave!”
“Why do you deny me thus?” was his hot riposte.
“Nobody pays a fiver to watch a bloke who used to be an entertainment and now isn’t!” came my fast counter.
Peachy’s truculence dropped quickly. He became translucent. Before he was so much ectoplasm I sucked him into my mouth in order that I might flob him out next Thursday April 29th to do this:

David Gale’s Peachy Coochy Nites
The projector projects 20 images for precisely 20 seconds each. The Coocheur (or Presenter) speaks for precisely twenty seconds per image. Randomness is discouraged but narrative linearity is not automatically esteemed.
David Gale, having launched a nationwide performance must-have, continues to curate this series of Peachy Coochy events at ArtsAdmin’s stylish yet reassuring Bar. Each event features sixCoocheurs, or Presenters, drawn from many walks of life. Each Coocheur will compose a verbal response to 20 images of their choice. Each presentation lasts 6 minutes and 40 seconds. There will be gaps between presentations for drinking and light conversation.
David, something of a Black Belt in these matters, will both compere and present the episodes that imply both the precondition and eventuality of wholeness but don’t actually deliver it.
This group was really blown away by the whole thing from beginning to end:
“He’s right.”
(Pat and ‘Woodsey’, after the last one)
Peachy Coochy Nites subscribes to the the National Belief System and is therefore committed to the provision of a wide range of contributors such as the pickpocket, the sneak thief, the petticoat, the slip of a thing, the ostensibly inadvertent mistake, the psychological error.
The next Peachy Coochy Nite will be held, as usual, in the Bar at Toynbee Studios on Thursday April 29th at 7.30 pm. Tickets £5.00. Booking advised but walk up welcome.
